Our Riding Treks
We will work out a riding program according to your wishes or alternatively you can choose one of the treks mentioned below. The day treks are suitable for all level riders. Only for families with young children (under 10 years) we recommend the Beach Adventure. The treks will be cancelled only under extreme weather conditions, like storm or extreme rain. For all treks we supply safety helmets and rain coats. You should wear closed solid shoes or (gum)boots and sunscreen. You are welcome to bring your hand camera (at own risk) and take a small drink bottle and a snack with you.
Main Adventure
This 2 hour circuit takes you to the long isolated Rangitukia beach for a walk or run in the surf of the ocean. A steep climb takes you to the top of the hills with views over the beach and a large beautiful part of the East Coast.
Bush Adventure
We take you on a near 2 hour adventure into the bush. You and your horse will cross the stream about 14 times. The big climb will take you to high country. Enjoy the, almost tropical, dense bush, smell the Manuka Trees and experience a real peace of unspoiled New Zealand nature.
Ocean and Nature Adventure
To have that ultimate New Zealand horse riding experience we combine the Main Trek and the Bush Trek. This trek takes approximately 4 hours.
Beach Adventure
This awesome 2 hour circuit takes you on the beach. It is specially suitable for families with young children or riders with a disability.
Overnight Camping Adventure
You leave on your horse with direction beach and hills and ultimately the camp site deep in the bush. The riding time is approxomately 4 hours on Day 1 and 2 hours on Day 2. You sleep in your sleeping bag next to the camp fire under the stars. A meal is provided. This trek is available for the confident to experienced rider since the hills are very steep. These hills take you up the highest lookout in the area with 360° views all the way to the East Cape Light House, Mount Hikurangi, the Waiapu River Bed to a long stretch of the Coast Line towards Tokomaru Bay. We only offer this ride in the summer, when weather permits and for groups of 5 people or more, conditions may apply.
