Eastender Horse Treks

Reg & Jacqui Kaa are the managers of the horse trekking. They have 3 daughters and they are all mad about their horses.



Reg is New Zealand Maori, born and raised in Rangitukia. Apart from breaking in his horses himself, Reg shoes, breeds and trains them ready to be used for horse trekking. Horses have been in his whanau (family) for generations and he learnt it all from them.
Jacqui is of Dutch origin and has been horse mad all her life too. Her horse riding background is of a more technical nature as she has done dressage and jumping. She is taking care of the administration side of the horse trekking, but as soon as she can leave the office she's on the horse to help Reg.

Reg and Jacqui are both professional tour guides. They can't think of anything that they'd rather do than to go horse riding with travellers from all over the world.

Eastender Backpackers

From the 1st of April 2008, Tim and Julie Wright are managing the Backpackers. They have taken over from Rangi and Esther Raroa who, since the millenium, have dedicated their time to create the cosy and comfortable Backpackers as you find it today.
